External radiotherapy involves irradiating the cancerous tumor from the outside using special machines. Internal radiotherapy (brachytherapy) involves injecting radiation sources directly into the tumor. These methods can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with other methods.

Chemotherapy treatment involves the use of drugs that slow or retard the growth of cancer cells. This method is often used when the cancer has spread outside the prostate and when it has recurred after other treatments.

Hormone therapy is prescribed to reduce levels of male sex hormones (testosterone), which can stimulate the growth of cancer cells. This can be accomplished with medication.

Immunotherapy stimulates the body’s immune system to fight cancer cells. This may include vaccines or drugs that activate immune cells.

Surgical treatments for prostate cancer may include radical prostatectomy. In this surgery, the prostate itself and surrounding tissues, including lymph nodes, are removed. There is also a method of organ-preserving surgery, in which only the tumor or part of the prostate is removed.

Prostate cancer develops from malignant cells that form a tumor in the prostate, the glandular gland of the male reproductive system. The main causes of cancer include genetic predisposition, age-related changes.

The disease can be suspected by frequent urination, weak and intermittent flow of urine, cramping, soreness, blood in semen or urine, and pain in the hip area.

Diagnosis of prostate cancer

Diagnostic measures at MDI Clinic include a comprehensive approach consisting of various methods and examinations. The main goal is to assess the stage of spread and determine the best treatment plan.

Direct rectal examination – palpation of the prostate through the rectal wall of the rectum for abnormalities, increased size, density, and other unusual signs.

A blood test determines the level of prostate specific antigen (PSA). An elevated PSA level may indicate a problem, but it is not the ultimate diagnostic indicator of cancer.

Based on the results of ultrasound and PSA tests, a biopsy may be performed, which takes a small sample of prostate tissue to analyze the presence of cancer cells in detail.

Magnetic resonance imaging and CT scans are used to more accurately determine the size of the neoplasm. PET-CT can be used to more accurately measure tumors and detect metastases.

    Really enjoyed the MDI clinic. Great attitude towards patients. Applied with the problem of psoriasis (>10 years trying to cure and nothing helps).
