Bronchiectatic disease
PulmonologyBronchiectatic disease is a chronic and progressive upper tract disease characterized by irreversible bronchial dilatation and deformity. This condition is accompanied by an accumulation of mucus and sputum in the dilated bronchi.
Treatment methods
When medication is ineffective and areas of the bronchi are affected, surgical intervention is the best option. Surgery may involve resection (removal) of the affected parts of the lungs or bronchi.
Patients with this condition may be routinely prescribed antibiotics to treat and provide preventative measures for bacterial infections. Each patient is prescribed an individualized regimen.
Bronchiectasis can occur after an anterior tract opening such as bronchitis, pneumonia, or tuberculosis. Infection can cause damage to the bronchial wall.
Most cases manifest with previous anterior tract infections such as bronchitis or pneumonia. They can lead to bronchial damage and subsequent bronchial dilation.
Cystic fibrosis is characterized by the formation of thick and viscous mucus in the lungs. People with weakened immune systems are at risk.
Diagnosis at MDI Clinic
The physician provides in-depth medical life history counseling. Sputum is collected from the patient for analysis. Sputum may contain bacteria, which is a sign of chronic infection.
A general blood test may reveal signs such as an increased number of white blood cells. A chest X-ray may show changes in the bronchi, such as dilation and the presence of mucus clots. Although images can be informative, they cannot always accurately diagnose the disease and require refinement.
A bronchoscopy allows the doctor to look directly at the condition of the bronchi. During the procedure, a thin, flexible tube-like instrument (bronchoscope) is inserted through the mouth or nose and breathed into the lungs.

Really enjoyed the MDI clinic. Great attitude towards patients. Applied with the problem of psoriasis (>10 years trying to cure and nothing helps).
