Causes and symptomatology of the disease

The specific causes of the disease are currently unknown. Experts believe it is a multi-stage disease that develops over time with exposure to external factors. Clinically, the disease is manifested by two syndromes:

  • Full-bloodedness. The patient may experience headaches and dizziness, heart palpitations, visual disturbances or itching. The skin and mucous membranes acquire a livid color.
  • Myeloproliferative syndrome. It is expressed as occasional weakness, fever, sweating, or bone pain.

When erythremia occurs in the patient’s body, there is a tendency for blood clots to form.

Examination at MDI Clinic

To diagnose the disease, to determine its stage or to control the course of the disease, the specialists of the Israeli MDI Clinic use such diagnostic methods:

  • Examination by a qualified hematologist, who will be able to note characteristic enlargements of the liver, spleen, as well as the appearance of gouty nodules.
  • Blood work. Appointed to determine the number of red blood cells, hemoglobin level and other characteristic signs of the disease.
  • A bone marrow biopsy to determine the number of blood cells in the marrow.
  • Abdominal ultrasound. It is used to clarify changes in internal organs characteristic of the disease.

    Really enjoyed the MDI clinic. Great attitude towards patients. Applied with the problem of psoriasis (>10 years trying to cure and nothing helps). I was worried about how everything would go, as I was flying from another country, but before arrival everything was discussed with me: what to do, how much time of stay will be needed, cost, accommodation, absolutely everything and I was not so worried. Upon arrival I was met, driven to the hotel and was in constant contact with me. Also gave a local SIM card for communication and internet, drove and accompanied everywhere.
