Prof. Ilan RON

Professor Ilan RON is one of the most renowned and important specialists in Israeli oncology, a world-renowned expert in the treatment of malignant tumors. Chief of the Medical Center’s Oncology Department and head of the university’s cancer drug development laboratory. Professor of Medicine. Total clinical experience – more than 30 years.

Ilan Ron specializes in clinical oncology, radiation and biological therapies. It treats melanomas, gastrointestinal tumors, breast cancer and other oncological diseases with high efficiency. The physician’s special professional interest is in the therapy of metastatic cancer. To do this, Ilan Ron utilizes all innovative technological possibilities.

He is also active in the study and application of immune therapy in the treatment of certain cancers, particularly melanoma. One of the drugs that Ilan Ron successfully uses in his practice is Keytruda (Rembrolizumab). This is the newest drug from the class of immune therapy, which has now shown to be highly effective, is prescribed for any cancer in case of ineffectiveness of standard treatment protocols.

In addition to his busy clinical practice, Prof. Ilan Ron has a strong academic and research focus on oncology with leading experts in the field. He runs a research laboratory that develops anti-cancer pharmaceuticals. He has published more than 100 scientific articles in the world’s leading medical publications in the field of oncology. He is a well-known and sought-after lecturer, lecturing in clinical oncology at Tel Aviv University.

Really enjoyed the MDI clinic. Great attitude towards patients. Applied with the problem of psoriasis (>10 years trying to cure and nothing helps). I was worried about how everything would go, as I was flying from another country, but before arrival everything was discussed with me: what to do, how much time of stay will be needed, cost, accommodation, absolutely everything and I was not so worried. Upon arrival I was met, driven to the hotel and was in constant contact with me. Also gave a local SIM card for communication and internet, drove and accompanied everywhere. Was in Tel Aviv for 3 days and during this time visited the doctor, did all the necessary tests and prescribed treatment. After leaving, I am still in touch with the curators and doctors to find out how the treatment is going, whether the medication is helping, my general health, whether I need to send more medication, etc. I am very glad that I visited MDI clinic, as it was the first time I saw the effect of treatment and that it actually helps. Words can't describe the emotions and feelings when you realize that you will finally be healthy and you can no longer be self-conscious about your skin, wear open clothes, put your hair up however you want, etc.
