Treatment methods

In goiter, the thyroid gland is enlarged. It can be caused by the previous 2 diseases. It can be diffuse (uniformly enlarged) as well as nodular (with nodule formation).
Diagnosis at MDI Clinic
To find out the exact diagnosis and receive a course of therapy, it is necessary to visit the endocrinology department of MDI Clinic. Diagnostic measures consist of blood tests, ultrasound and other methods.
Examination of the antibody count will help determine the cause of the disease. For example, patients with basal disease have antibodies to thyroid peroxidase (AT-TPO).
If nodules are present or malignancy is suspected, tissue samples are taken to be tested in the laboratory for cancer.
