Prof. Aaron POPOVITZER is an expert in the field of head and neck oncopathologies. He is a unique specialist who has enough knowledge and skills to look at the disease from all angles: otolaryngologist, oncologist and radiotherapist. Thanks to his 20 years of experience, modern technology and the latest drugs, the professor successfully treats diseases such as: thyroid cancer, tongue cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, laryngeal cancer, salivary gland cancer, oral cavity cancer, tonsil cancer, vocal cord cancer, as well as metastatic forms of cancer.
Aaron Popovitzer utilizes a unique TrueBeam technology to treat various types of cancers. It is a modern device that allows you to maximize the accuracy of radiation therapy avoiding trauma to nearby organs and perform radiosurgery with millimeter accuracy. The professor constantly learns and actively implements the latest methods – radiation therapy using gold grains, focused therapy for metastases, brachytherapy against cancer in the head area. Its patients have the opportunity to benefit from the latest techniques such as biological drugs based on monoclonal antibodies, as well as immunotherapy. Prof. Popovitser helps many patients to achieve a stable long-term remission and successfully cope with recurrences of cancer.
Professor Popovitzer graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1998. He completed his residency at Beilinson Hospital and received two specializations: ENT surgery and head and neck surgery. He interned at University Hospital of Michigan as a medical oncologist. In addition, he studied innovative brachytherapy and focused remote radiotherapy techniques at Beit Israel and Sloan Kettering Medical Centers in New York City. Currently, the professor is the head of the oncology department of face and neck tumors.
The professor teaches at the Faculty of Medicine at St. John’s University. Sackler at Tel Aviv University. He shares his experience with colleagues and passes it on to future oncologists. Aaron Popovitzer is actively involved in clinical trials of new treatments that are not yet available in conventional hospitals in Israel and Europe. He is often invited as a speaker at international specialized conferences. Prof. Popovitser has authored more than 60 publications published in professional medical journals.
