Yaakov SHECHTER is a leading dermatologist and oncodermatologist in Israel. Deservedly ranked among the top oncodermatologists in the world. Authoritative specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, including its most dangerous and malignant tumor – melanoma. The doctor’s professional experience is approaching 40 years.

Every day the professor sees dozens of sick people from all over the world. The positive results of the therapy prescribed by him are very high. He has in-depth knowledge and vast experience in the treatment of melanoma. The physician’s primary area of practice is clinical oncology and radiation oncology, advanced therapies. He is engaged in the development and validation of new approaches to the treatment of melanoma.

Jacob Schechter is a pioneering physician. He founded and directed the Ella Center, which specializes in researching and developing innovative treatments for melanoma and skin cancer patients in Israel.

In addition to his primary clinical activities, Jacob Schechter is actively engaged in research in the field of oncodermatology. Under the professor’s leadership, an international research group was established to conduct early clinical trials in melanoma. Members of this group are engaged in serious study of melanoma: how it develops, what its symptoms are, who is at risk of developing it, and more. Innovative and promising therapies have been developed that lead to very high cure rates, even for metastatic cancer. In particular, the latest TIL therapy, which is considered the most promising at present, as well as the combination of radiation therapy and pharmacotherapy. Prof. Schechter has almost completely stopped treating cancer patients with chemotherapy and dramatically reduced the use of radiation therapy, thanks to innovative targeted drugs aimed at melanoma.

Yakov Shekhter is the author of more than 200 scientific papers on the treatment of benign and malignant skin growths. He teaches at the Department of Oncology, Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. Recipient of numerous prestigious awards and grants for his achievements in cancer research and the development of an innovative approach to treating melanoma with immunotherapy.

Really enjoyed the MDI clinic. Great attitude towards patients. Applied with the problem of psoriasis (>10 years trying to cure and nothing helps). I was worried about how everything would go, as I was flying from another country, but before arrival everything was discussed with me: what to do, how much time of stay will be needed, cost, accommodation, absolutely everything and I was not so worried. Upon arrival I was met, driven to the hotel and was in constant contact with me. Also gave a local SIM card for communication and internet, drove and accompanied everywhere. Was in Tel Aviv for 3 days and during this time visited the doctor, did all the necessary tests and prescribed treatment. After leaving, I am still in touch with the curators and doctors to find out how the treatment is going, whether the medication is helping, my general health, whether I need to send more medication, etc. I am very glad that I visited MDI clinic, as it was the first time I saw the effect of treatment and that it actually helps. Words can't describe the emotions and feelings when you realize that you will finally be healthy and you can no longer be self-conscious about your skin, wear open clothes, put your hair up however you want, etc.
