Through the procedure, the ovaries are moved out of the radiation zone and are not damaged by radiation.

Indications for robot-assisted interventions in gynecologic oncology

The use of a robot is a way to improve the efficiency and safety of the intervention. Therefore, this approach is appropriate for any patients. However, the most favored cases are:

• Increased risk of adhesions, e.g. in case of previous interventions;
• Diabetes mellitus or other chronic diseases;
• overweight.

The use of robotics for treatment becomes particularly important for patients over the age of seventy. In this case, the anesthesia exposure time is shortened and the overall burden on the body is reduced.
